Servings 6 burgers

  • 2 lbs 85% lean ground beef
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4-5 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and diced small
  • 1/2 teaspoon McCormick Texas BBQ seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Hamburger buns

Topping Ideas

  • BBQ sauce
  • Mayonnaise
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Lettuce
  • Sliced red onion

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar, bacon, jalapeno, and BBQ seasoning. Mix well and set aside.
  • Preheat grill or smoker to high heat.
  • Portion 1/3 pound of ground beef then divide that into two equal, thin patties. Make sure circumference is the same. Add 2-3 tablespoons cream cheese mixture to one patty. Top with another patty and seal edges well. Set aside on wax paper and make five more burgers.
  • Place burgers on grill and cook until one side is brown and seared (time depends on the type of grill used). Flip and continue cooking until desired internal temperature is reached. (145 degrees for medium rare, 155 for medium, 160 for medium well)
  • Serve on buns with toppings of choice.
